Joseph is a true miracle, not because he has survived when we were told there was no hope of him living, but because we were told that he would never exist. We heard of Joseph on Dec 28, 2004 a true Christmas gift from God.

Joseph was born on August 16,2005, in Dothan, Alabama, 3 weeks early, he was put on oxygen for 4 days, when an MRI revealed that there was a problem with his brain, he was sent to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where we were told that Joseph has Severe SemiLobar Holoprosencephaly, and that he would not live to be 6 mths old, and if he did he would not walk, talk, feed, he would basically be a vegatable.

Well, today Joseph is 19 months old and thriving, he eats from a spoon and bottle, and with alot therapy, Joseph is trying to sit, walk, hold things, and commando crawl, not bad for a child they said would not live.

Joseph lights up the room when he is in it, people flock to him like bees to honey, with his big blue eyes and bright smile, he will melt your heart.

Joseph has a long road ahead of him but with the grace of God he will make that rode and we will make it with him, God gave me a precious child to love, whether he can or cannot, does not matter, he is truly a GIFT.

Joseph loves the Backyardigans, Blues Clues and listening to the radio with his 17 year old brother, he doesn't not like riding in the car, and he does not like being in a room alone, he loves to be around people.

Joseph has done what they said he would not do...HE SURVIVED and he is a fighter, and most of all he is my HERO.
